Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Nick and Jennifer Stevens.  After many years of dodging the bullet she finally tied him down Saturday Oct. 4.  Everybody involved had a great time.  Nick is a long time member of SJTFD and we wish him and his new bride all the luck in the world. 

On November 22nd and November 5th we will hosting a 6 hour driving course.  During these two sessions we will be discussions topics such as; driver selection and responsibilities, SOP's and Laws, and truck maintenance.  Times for both sessions will be 1800-2100 hrs.  On November 8th we will have the driving course set up and all members will be able to schedule a time to drive the course. 

The 2009 Fitness Challenge is coming.  Details will be revealed at the general meeting Dec. 7.  All you need is a partner and a desire to live a healthier life.  Keep in mind your partner must be someone from the department  This will be a great way to start and keep all of those New Year's resoultions we all make and struggle to keep. 

Following the 4th Quarterly Business Meeting are annual Christmas Party and Awards Program was held.  The program started with a meal catered by Applebee's which was very delicious.  A sing-a-long was led by Chief's Berger's father featuring all our favorite Christmas Carols.  The Township Christmas tree was lit and Santa Claus arrived for all the children.  The following awards were handed out by out going Fire Chief Mike Hallien:

The EMTB-Advanced class begins on February 4 and continues until April 11.  Anyone needing Inservice time in advanced area watch posted schedule and you are welcome to attend.  Classes are Monday and Wednesday from 6pm -- 10pm with some Saturdays.

Here are current bylaws.  They are set to be reviewed this year, so be aware that changes may be posted at a later date.

TB Test will be given on Sunday March 22 beginning at 1900hrs.  These will need to be read prior to fire training on March 25.  ANYONE WHO HAS NOT HAD A TB TEST IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS MUST BE TESTED.

The Pancake and Sausage Breakfast will take place on April 18th from 0700-1100 hours.   All you can eat pancakes will fill your tummy and the hospitality will be overflowing.  If you miss breakfast or just want to hang out all day, starting at 11am and going until 7 pm we will serve Hamburgers and Brats.  Come on out and have a great time. 

The April 6th Board meeting will begin at 6:30pm. All members are welcome to attend.

Bylaws

Training for Wednesday August 26th will be Collecting for Jerry's Kids.  The annual MDA collection continues and we will be at 3 -4 intersections.   Wear Class B Uniform.  

Wednesday, August 26 we will be collecting for MDA.  Please wear Class B uniforms.   Let's make this a success.

Once again the Annual Christmas Party will follow the Fourth Quarterly General Meeting.   The Meal will be served around 6:30 pm.   The menu will consist of Chicken, Scalloped Potatoes and drinks.   Members are asked to bring a covered dish or dessert.  A-K bring a Dessert   L - Z bring a Covered Dish.

Please RSVP by the end of training on Wednesday.  Sign-up sheet on the back board.  We need to know how many are coming and if children, their sex and ages for Santa Gifts.

On Wednesday March 10th, Invisible Fence made a donation of two animal Oxygen/Resuscitation kits.  Each kit includes a face piece for 3 different size animals along with oxygen tubing.  The face pieces can also be attached to a BVM in order to ventilate a pet that is not breathing.  We would like to THANK Invisible Fence for this donation.

Washington Township and Huntertown Fire Departments were also present and each received a kit.
